What it does

Several connections per file

Each download is split into parts fetched at the same time, up to 16, when the server allows it.

Pause and resume

Stop a download and continue later, even after a restart. Changed files are never mixed with old bytes.

Videos on the page

A button on videos, or Find videos in the menu: files, HLS streams with a choice of quality, and players that stream video and sound separately.

Plays everywhere

Streams are saved as MP4, video and sound joined, without re-encoding. Subtitles are saved next to the video.

You stay in control

A preview before each download: rename it, pick the folder, see the size. Nothing is ever overwritten.

Private by design

No account, no telemetry, no cloud. DoRaptim runs on your computer and talks only to the sites you download from.

Any file, sorted for you

DoRaptim downloads any file a website offers over HTTP or HTTPS, and puts it in a folder by its type. You can rename each folder, or choose another for one download.

Streams and video players

Videos that are not one simple file are still downloaded, and saved so they play everywhere.

HLS streams (.m3u8), also AES-128 encrypted, saved as MP4
Players that stream video and sound separately, joined into one MP4
Subtitles (VTT, SRT, ASS) saved next to the video

Anything else goes to Other. Files smaller than 1 MiB stay with the browser unless you lower the limit in the settings.

DoRaptim has two parts: the engine, a small program that does the downloading, and the Chrome extension that hands downloads to it. Install both.

Install

1. The engine

Download the installer for your computer above and open it.
Windows says "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway. macOS says it cannot check the package: open System Settings, Privacy & Security, and choose Open Anyway. The builds are not code-signed yet.
The installer connects the engine to your browsers. Nothing else is needed.

2. The Chrome extension

Download the extension ZIP and unzip it into a folder you keep (Chrome loads it from there).
Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.
Choose Load unpacked and pick the unzipped folder, the one with manifest.json.
Check that its ID is omaocaakodbohegmpboammlafnagpnpd.

Start a download in Chrome: DoRaptim shows a preview, and the download runs in the engine.
