Troubleshooting
What to do when something does not work.
"The engine is not connected"
The extension cannot reach the engine.
- Check that the engine is installed: run
doraptim --versionin a terminal. - Run
doraptim setupto connect it to your browsers again, then reload the extension inchrome://extensions. - Check that the extension's ID is
omaocaakodbohegmpboammlafnagpnpd. - Still nothing? Restart the engine with
doraptim restart.
Downloads still go to the browser
- Check that Take over downloads is on in the popup.
- Small files are left to the browser: by default DoRaptim takes files of 1 MiB or more. Change it in the settings.
- Downloads from private windows and from other extensions are not taken over.
No button on a video
- Turn on Find videos automatically in the settings, and allow access to all sites when Chrome asks.
- Reload the page after turning it on or after updating the extension.
- Some players build the video in a way DoRaptim cannot download yet; the button's menu then says so.
A video file does not play
Open it with VLC, IINA, or mpv. Streams are saved as MP4, which every player plays; a stream kept as .ts (when its codec cannot go into MP4) needs one of those players on a Mac.
A download failed
Open the Downloads page and click its name to see the reason. Resume continues it when the server allows; if the file on the server changed, DoRaptim starts again from the beginning instead of mixing old and new bytes. Links that expire (common for video sites) need the page opened again.
Report a problem
Security problems: use Report a vulnerability in the Security tab of the releases repository. Other problems: open an issue there with your system, the DoRaptim version (doraptim --version), and what happened.
